GTA 6 Release Date Delayed Again? Insider Says May 2026 Launch Is Unlikely

September 15 – Millions of players worldwide eagerly await Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6), but the game may be preparing an “unpleasant surprise.” Rumors of a delayed release continue spreading across social media, leaving fans frustrated.

Although Rockstar Games has officially announced that GTA 6 will launch on May 26, 2026, well-known insider Tom Henderson recently shared his thoughts on the Insider Gaming podcast:
“To be honest, I don’t think the game will release in May. For some reason, I just can’t see GTA 6 coming out then. None of the chatter or insider info supports a May launch. Right now, I don’t have enough solid evidence to publish a report, so don’t go posting this on Reddit. But I believe Rockstar has proven time and again that they’re perfectionists. Personally, I think the game might come out in October, which would allow them to hit the holiday sales season.”

If GTA 6 does end up releasing in late 2026, Rockstar could reap several benefits. The end of the year is already a key sales period for games, and launching such a highly anticipated title then would almost certainly ensure massive success. Moreover, this timing may align more closely with the release window of next-gen consoles like the PlayStation 6—an additional advantage.

According to Henderson, Rockstar may issue an official announcement regarding the adjusted release schedule by the end of 2025. However, it’s important to note that this information remains speculative. Without an official statement, fans are advised to stay cautious.
