It is important to note that "Skate" requires an internet connection to play because "the game’s city will continuously evolve." According to its statement, "Speed Skater" is a constantly online, ever-changing multiplayer skateboarding sandbox city. The city will undergo large-scale changes over time, along with smaller real-time events and in-game activities. To achieve this, the game must always be online.
The official also announced that the first season’s content will be launched shortly after the early access begins. The studio revealed in the official blog "The Grind" that "Speed Skater" will adopt a seasonal model, where the game world, gameplay, events, and even music will be updated with each season. Each season will last approximately three months, during which a "Speed Skater Pass" will be released, with both free and paid tiers.
