In the early hours of today, Apple released the official versions of iOS 26, iPadOS 26, and other operating systems.

The OS 26 family, from iPhone to Mac, iPad to Vision Pro, brings a unified interface language and interaction logic across all devices.

In terms of design, Apple has named the new UI design "Solarium," which incorporates new design elements such as "Liquid Glass." This glass material can reflect and refract the surrounding environment, with the overall visual style aligning with visionOS. It uses glass materials extensively to manage the hierarchical differentiation within the interface.

For iOS 26, the lock screen has been upgraded with gravity-sensing spatial wallpaper effects. The interfaces of the Camera, Photos, and Safari browser have been significantly simplified. CarPlay also receives a synchronized update in visual language. iOS 26 also introduces a new battery management feature called "Adaptive Power."

On iPadOS 26, there is a brand-new window management system that supports free scaling, dragging, tiling, and other features, providing a desktop-level multitasking experience. It also introduces a new menu bar that supports drop-down operations and search functions. Developers can also customize their own menus.

According to reports, Apple has updated its technical support page and emphasized the importance of iPhone system updates and their potential impact on devices. It also explains why, after updating to iOS 26, iPhones might experience temporary issues with battery life and performance.

Regarding concerns over battery life and performance changes, Apple clarified that this is because the system needs to complete indexing of data and files in the background in preparation for search functions, and it will also download new resources and update apps, all of which consume additional hardware resources. Additionally, Apple pointed out that while new features in iOS 26 could improve the user experience, some features might continue to consume more processing power and battery life.
