Leaker Claims Next-Gen Xbox Could Cost Twice as Much as PS6! Supports Steam, GOG, and Other Third-Party Stores

According to Gamingbolt, well-known leaker KelperL2 recently replied to a fan on the Neogaf forums, revealing that Microsoft’s next-generation console may end up being priced significantly higher than the PS6, and could even support third-party storefronts such as Steam and GOG.

As reported by www.modezone.com, if the new Xbox does indeed support third-party stores, it would have a major impact on the console’s business model, since Microsoft would lose the usual 30% revenue cut from game sales. This could force the company to rely more heavily on hardware sales for profit. In addition, the next-gen Xbox will feature a powerful AMD APU (codenamed Magnus), which could push the XSX 2’s price to nearly double that of the PS6.

It’s also worth noting that recent rumors suggest Sony may launch not only the PS6 home console but also a PS6 handheld device at the same time. The handheld is said to support a Nintendo Switch–style dock mode for TV play, and may be priced around $500, with a targeted release window of late 2027.
