Hollow Knight: Silksong has officially received its first patch, and while it primarily addresses bugs, it also makes the notoriously tough metroidvania just a touch more forgiving.
The update introduces a “slight difficulty reduction” for two of the game’s early bosses, Moorwing and Sister Splinter, giving new players a smoother entry point. In addition, Sandcarvers—pesky enemies known for their punishing attacks—will now deal less damage.
Alongside these balance tweaks, Team Cherry has rolled out a substantial list of bug fixes. Notably, players should no longer get stuck floating after performing a down-bounce on certain projectiles, and Silk Snippers in the Chapel of the Reaper can no longer glitch out of bounds. Importantly, the studio notes that all fixes apply retroactively, so players who’ve encountered progression-blocking bugs may want to opt into the public beta to resolve their issues.
Silksong launched on September 4 to a massive reception, quickly climbing the Steam charts and reportedly surpassing 5 million players in its opening days.
Here are the highlights from the Silksong 1.0.28470 patch notes:

- Fixed multiple “wish” quests that couldn’t be completed in late-game scenarios
