Since the release of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Activision’s flagship first-person shooter has become an unstoppable force in the gaming industry. Each year, the franchise continues to smash records, generating billions of dollars in revenue.

The newly revealed list of PlayStation’s all-time best-selling titles further highlights the series’ dominance—multiple Call of Duty games rank among the very top.

The data comes from U.S. analytics firm Circana. According to the report, Grand Theft Auto V remains the single best-selling game on PlayStation platforms since 1995. Rockstar’s other hits, including Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA: San Andreas, also make the cut. However, no franchise has managed to place as many entries on the chart as Call of Duty. In fact, at least four different installments rank within the top ten alone.

Top Call of Duty Games by Revenue

  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019)
  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II (2022)
  • Call of Duty: Black Ops 6
  • Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War
  • Call of Duty: Black Ops III

Top Call of Duty Games by Unit Sales

  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019)
  • Call of Duty: Black Ops III
  • Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War
  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II (2022)

Perhaps the most striking takeaway isn’t just the massive popularity of Activision’s flagship IP, but the fact that most of these top sellers were released within the last seven to eight years. This trend suggests that the franchise’s momentum is still building. While older classics such as the original Black Ops and Black Ops II do appear, their rankings fall far behind recent entries.

Beyond Call of Duty, PlayStation’s own first-party hits like The Last of Us and Marvel’s Spider-Man also secured spots within the top 20 by revenue, while evergreen titles such as Minecraft unsurprisingly made the list as well.
