Steam 2025 Autumn Sale Kicks Off at the End of September! Nearly Two Months Earlier Than Usual

The 2025 Steam Autumn Sale is expected to begin on September 29 and end on October 6. It should be noted that the timing of this year’s sale is different from previous years, so players should take care not to miss it.

According to Valve and multiple media outlets, the 2025 Steam Autumn Sale will run from September 29 to October 6 (PT). Traditionally, the Autumn Sale has been held in late November (around Thanksgiving in the U.S. or “Black Friday”), but this year it’s noticeably earlier. The main reason is that the new schedule coincides with China’s Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day Golden Week, making it more convenient for Chinese players to participate. Valve also intends to stagger the Autumn and Winter sales to avoid having two major discount events too close together.

In past years, the Autumn Sale usually took place in late November, falling between Thanksgiving and Black Friday in the U.S., and lasted about a week. This year’s adjusted schedule almost perfectly aligns with China’s National Day and Mid-Autumn holiday period, better matching the holiday routines of Chinese players.
