On September 19, Microsoft announced that starting from yesterday (September 18), it has begun rolling out the AI gaming assistant "Gaming Copilot" (Beta version) through Windows Game Bar for PC users. The feature is also planned to launch on the mobile Xbox app in October.

Currently, this feature is available only to users over the age of 18 and is not yet available in mainland China. It is positioned as a "personal gaming companion" aimed at providing real-time, intelligent gaming support, creating the "ultimate gaming assistant."

The core highlight of Gaming Copilot is its voice mode. Players can activate "key call" via customizable hotkeys or switch to the "mini mode" for extended conversations, ensuring they receive help without interrupting their gameplay. On mobile, users can start voice interactions by simply tapping the microphone icon in the Xbox app.

In addition to voice interaction, Copilot can also recognize on-screen content. When players encounter new enemies, it can instantly explain the enemy's characteristics and offer strategies to counter them. During storyline dialogues, it can remind players of NPC background information. It will also track the player's achievement progress, guide them toward the next goal to unlock, and recommend new games based on personal preferences.

PC users who wish to try it now can open the Game Bar with the shortcut Windows + G and activate Copilot. Mobile users will need to wait for the Xbox app update in October.
