On September 5, Tencent announced that its MMORPG Tarisland will shut down its international servers at 08:00 (Beijing Time) on November 4. The Chinese servers, however, have not yet announced any shutdown plans.

Tarisland was Tencent’s attempt to rival World of Warcraft. Before the return of World of Warcraft’s Chinese services, the game launched internationally on June 12, 2024. According to Tencent, the game supports cross-platform data sharing between mobile and PC, allowing players to enjoy it on smartphones, tablets, and computers. The game follows an expansion-style seasonal model, with each season bringing 5 dungeons and 2 raids, along with new gameplay, new gear sets, and fresh adventures.
The latest update on the official Chinese website dates back to March 2025, while the game’s official Weibo account last updated in February 2025.
