Huawei HarmonyOS 6.0.0 (20) Developer Version Officially Release date

On September 25th, Huawei's developer website announced that the HarmonyOS 6.0.0 (20) developer version was officially released today (September 25, 2025). It is important to note that the 6.0.0 (20) release does not introduce new features. This indicates that HarmonyOS 6 has entered a more mature stage and is expected to begin broader testing soon.

The HarmonyOS 6.0.0 (20) developer version, based on HarmonyOS 5.1.1 (19), includes the following updates:

• Further enhanced ArkUI component capabilities, added several new system components, and optimized various component invocation details.
• ArkWeb's Chromium kernel has been upgraded to version 132, enhancing ArkWeb's capabilities.
• Introduced a new edge-side Q&A model, supporting intelligent Q&A on the edge side, along with a new smart data retrieval C API supporting vectorization, knowledge retrieval, and knowledge-based Q&A.
• New map capabilities include vector layers, flow field layers, massive point layers, and heatmap layers. It also supports generating marker icons through custom components.

Huawei's HarmonyOS 6 Developer Version Experience Recruitment (Phase II) officially opened on September 15th (if devices have already been upgraded to the HarmonyOS 6 developer preview, users do not need to participate in this event. New versions will be pushed to users on the HarmonyOS 6 developer preview in batches as new versions become available). Early adopters can also sign up for this.

Additionally, Huawei's HarmonyOS 6.0.0.100 Developer/User Early Access version was reviewed and pushed to users starting September 16th. The system package size is about 11.19GB and is compatible with 43 device models, including the nova 14 and Mate 70 series.

During Huawei's Pura 80 series and full-scenario product launch on June 11th, Huawei Executive Director and Consumer Business Group Chairman Yu Chengdong stated that HarmonyOS 6.0 is expected to be upgraded between October and November this year. The upgrade will also bring the Star Flash car key feature to other models.
