Leaked Video Reveals First Look at Analogue 3D in Action

Retro gaming fans just got an unexpected treat: a 32-second promo video for the long-delayed Analogue 3D has leaked online, showing the FPGA-powered Nintendo 64 clone running in the wild for the very first time.

The clip walks through the full experience—sliding in a classic N64 cartridge, firing up the console, and playing on a modern TV with an 8BitDo 64 Bluetooth controller. For preorder customers who’ve been waiting since October 2024, this is the closest look yet at the near-final hardware.

Originally, Analogue planned to send out review units in late August 2025, with media impressions dropping at the same time. But in July, the company surprised fans by delaying shipments to Q4 2025 and scrapping its early review program. According to Analogue, the “hardware, system, and packaging are 99% complete,” and the team is now laser-focused on “the final 1% of optimization.”

Meanwhile, the competition isn’t sitting still. ModRetro—the company behind the Game Boy-compatible Chromatic—just announced its own FPGA-based N64 system, the M64. Even more eyebrow-raising: it’s priced \$50 lower than Analogue’s device. That puts fresh pressure on Analogue as it races to deliver on its premium pitch.
