September 5 — Microsoft announced yesterday (September 4) that the Microsoft ID@Xbox Indie Selects event will host a large-scale online Demo Fest from September 9 to 30, 2025, running for three weeks and giving players access to over 40 playable games.

The event is open to players on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, inviting them to try more than 40 titles, covering both new, unreleased projects and updates to already released games.

Unlike regular trial versions, many of these demos are in-development builds, closer to what you’d play on a show-floor. The goal is to gather player feedback to help polish the final products.

Highlighted demos include four featured titles:

  • Echo Weaver (Moonlight Kids): A time-loop puzzle adventure where you play the last “Weaver,” unraveling space-time mysteries.
  • Mina the Hollower (Yacht Club Games, creators of Shovel Knight): A pixel-art action-adventure; the hero uses whip attacks and a burrowing ability to explore a cursed island.
  • The Jackbox Party Pack 11 (Jackbox Games): Includes five party games; the demo features Doominate (a 3–8 player comedic writing game) and Hear Say (a 2–8 player voice-acting game).
  • Yooka-Replaylee (Playtonic Games): A full remaster of Yooka-Laylee with a new map system, currency mechanics, and expanded customization options.
