On September 12, news outlet Synth Potato revealed new information about Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption 2. According to Synth Potato, multiple reliable sources have confirmed that Rockstar will unveil the brand-new version of Red Dead Redemption 2 at tonight’s Nintendo Direct event at 9 PM.
Synth Potato also mentioned that the next-gen version of Red Dead Redemption 2 will be coming to the Nintendo Switch 2, Sony PS5, and Xbox Series X, with an expected release this year. However, it's worth noting that Synth Potato cautioned that this news should be taken with a grain of salt, as "Rockstar rarely makes an appearance at Nintendo Direct events."

Another insider, NateTheHate2, also mentioned earlier this month that even if Red Dead Redemption 2 is absent from the Nintendo Direct, the game will eventually come to the Switch 2. Originally released in 2018, Red Dead Redemption 2 was developed by Rockstar San Diego and serves as the direct sequel to Red Dead Redemption. It follows the story of Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang as they struggle to survive and evade law enforcement in a harsh environment. Players traverse the American West during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, engaging in horseback riding, hunting, treasure hunting, and more. According to Take-Two Interactive's recent financial report, Red Dead Redemption 2 has sold over 77 million copies. Despite the growing demand for Red Dead Redemption 3, Red Dead Redemption 2 remains a key highlight in Rockstar Games and Take-Two’s financial performance.
The game was initially released for the Sony PS4 and Xbox One, and later launched on PC. Its arrival on the Switch marks a new chapter for the game.
