According to information obtained by GGamen, Sony has recently introduced a limited-time “Upgrade Program” in the United States, offering eligible players a free $100 PlayStation Store voucher.
Based on the official email notification, this campaign is only available to invited users and will end on September 20.
The promotion applies to multiple upgrade scenarios, including upgrading from PS4 to PS5, trading in a launch edition PS5 for a PS5 Slim, and upgrading from these models to the PS5 Pro. Notably, if a player purchased a new console before the program began on August 26, as long as they complete activation before the deadline and had never previously activated a PS5, they are still eligible to claim the reward.
Sony stated that each PSN account is limited to redeeming the voucher once, and additional console purchases will not grant multiple rewards. After activating the new console, players simply need to visit the PlayStation Store page on their PS5 to see the redemption prompt. Following the instructions, the $100 credit will be deposited directly into their wallet balance, available for purchasing games, DLC, and other digital content.
At present, the promotion appears to be limited to the U.S., with no similar offers announced for other markets.
