At the Berlin International Advertising Creative Festival’s Ciclope Awards held this mid-October, the reveal trailer for The Witcher 4 was awarded Best Game Animation Short Film. This marks one of the first major honors the title has received ahead of its release.
The Witcher 4 trailer competed against high-profile nominees—including two music videos produced by Riot Games for Valorant—and ultimately took the top spot in its category.
The cinematic teaser was produced by Platige Image, CD Projekt RED’s longtime partner, and is the studio’s first work realized with Unreal Engine 5. In their acceptance remarks, the creative team expressed gratitude to the game developers for entrusting them with creative collaboration.
In additional awards news, an Xbox advertisement directed by David Fincher, titled Wake Up, took home the Post-Production award. It was also shortlisted in multiple other categories including visual effects, cinematography, color grading, and direction.
