September 12 — According to Sony PlayStation’s official Weibo account, the PS5 DualSense controller “Astro Bot Joy Limited Edition” will launch on October 30. Pre-orders are now open, though the price has not yet been announced.

For reference:

  • The previous Astro Bot Limited Edition DualSense controller was priced at $199 in China.
  • In the U.S., the standard DualSense controller retails for about $69.99.
  • Limited or special editions (such as the 30th Anniversary Edition) typically cost around $79.99.
  • The high-end DualSense Edge has an official retail price of $199, though discounts sometimes bring it down to around $169.

The new “Astro Bot Joy Limited Edition” is broadly similar to the earlier version, with the main difference being the touchpad design: the circular eye motif has been replaced with a crescent-shaped smile, giving it a cuter appearance.

On the game side, Astro Bot is said to fully utilize the PS5 DualSense controller’s haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. Players can explore six galaxies and over 80 levels, with each planet offering a unique environment—ranging from lush forests to beaches and volcanoes. The game also features more than 70 new enemy types, including a boss at the end of each galaxy.
