According to sources cited by Insider Gaming, Marvel’s Wolverine — first announced during the PlayStation Showcase in 2021 — may make an appearance at the upcoming State of Play event later this month.

One anonymous source stated that PlayStation is currently planning to hold the next State of Play at the end of September. Another insider revealed that Insomniac Games’ Marvel’s Wolverine is “almost certain” to be shown at the event, as its next trailer has already been completed.

If the game does not appear during State of Play, the trailer will likely be released within the next few months, most probably during the year-end Game Awards (TGA) ceremony.

Development of Marvel’s Wolverine faced setbacks after a ransomware attack in December 2023, which led to leaks of employee data and large amounts of in-game footage. The incident forced adjustments to the game’s development schedule, though the extent of these changes remains unclear.

As for what else might feature in the upcoming State of Play, details are still unconfirmed. However, possible highlights include Bungie’s Marathon, a new Metroidvania-style God of War project (separate from the mainline sequel currently in development), Phantom Blade Zero, and Naughty Dog’s Star Wars: Echoes of the Past.

Additionally, the event will likely provide a deeper look at Ghost of Yotei, which is officially set to launch on October 2, 2025.
